So soon you ask?!!
This is how it went down...
6 hours from Kampala to Soroti in the Landcruiser
1 sleep and then 1 morning wasted in search of wrenches and someone to unlock an iPhone(don't ask)
3 hours to Abim and we are officially off the grid
1 hut for Paul and I
2 frogs in hut in the morning
1 sunrise witnessed whilst sipping tea we made from our stove and pot
1 training course with the Abim mechanics...tire levers were a hit..who knew?!
1st perfect sleep on our second night in hut...feel rested...
20 emails/texts/phone calls trying to get bikes released...no luck
2 hours to Kotido (second location) to meet with Charles who will oversee
100 cows offered for my hand in marriage in Kotido town centre...the going rate (Paul still mulling over offer)
140 students in a classroom
5 computers in a highschool, no internet
1 meltdown (mine) when the poverty becomes overwhelming
Lots of beans rice, beans and rice, beans beans beans, rice rice rice
2 samosas from street vendor...tasty!
1 case food poisoning (mine)
24 hours sleeping...then better
5 days and 4 nights total in Kotido
1 phone call to say bikes will be freed up latest monday so we head back to Abim to await arrival
1 phone call to find out the paperwork isn't right so we head back to Kampala spending a night in Soroti. (numerous choice words uttered)
2 beers and wifi for the first time in 10 days makes PandA very happy.
So there you have it...in a nutshell. Pictures to come :)
